We have a trip booked for Disneyland Paris’ Enchanted Christmas Celebration. We’ve never been to a Disney Park during the festive season, so we have high hopes. We have compiled a bucket list for all the things we’d love to experience when were there.
1. Seeing the Christmas Tree lit up on Main Street
We cannot wait for that first glimpse of the castle peaking out from behind the Christmas tree! I’ve seen photographs of what it looks like but being there and seeing it for ourselves will be just magical, I’ll probably cry. I’ve also heard that they make it snow on Main Street throughout the day, to be on Main Street when the snow is falling, seeing the castle and tree would be a dream!
2. Festive Food
We’ve booked a meal plan; we went for the standard full board. We’ve done this for ease, we booked a meal plan last year at Halloween and it was so much easier. Although we found that we didn’t eat lunch or snacks because we were so full of the breakfast. The plan for this trip is to not overdo it at breakfast so we have room to eat lunch and pick up lots of festive snacks. The time of year that were going, were expecting it to be very cold and also expecting to want to escape the weather, so we’ve booked the majority of our sit-down meals for lunch time and then we’ll do quick service in the evening. Were also hoping to get some of the snacks specific to the Enchanted Christmas Celebration. I’d really like to try the Mickey Shaped filled shortbread cookie. It’s also a must to get a ho-ho-hot chocolate. Victoria’s is the place to get all of the Christmas snacks, you can buy all 5 mini Christmas treats for nine euros (if they haven’t sold out), a trip to Victoria’s is definitely on our list.
3. Our Favourite rides
Last time we visited “it’s a small world” was being refurbished and I believe it’s back open, this is a family favourite and we would like to do this ride again. Our all-time favourite is Big Thunder Mountain, we would like to ride this at least twice. The girls and I watched “Haunted Mansion” on Disney+ so it would be great to ride it again, now we have more of an understanding of the story behind it. The Zippy girls have also done some growing in the last year and should now be tall enough for Hyperspace Mountain which would be good for them to experience. The littlest Zippy girl is a bit of a daredevil so I’m sure she will love it. I’m an absolute pro when it comes to the Buzz Lightyear ride, I’m the one to beat, I’m also very competitive. The Zippy girls aren’t big marvel fans but appreciate Spiderman, we didn’t get to do WEB slinger last time we were there because the ride went down, so it’s a must this time around.
4. Shows
We’d like to see the Christmas show that’s in the Videopolis, it’s a festive sing along with the super six. I’d also really like to see the Lion King show and the new Together Pixar show. We obviously need to see the super six in their Christmas get-up dancing in the parade. We’d also really like to see the drone show in Walt Disney Studios Park.
5. Shopping
We’ll be there near the end of the Enchanted Christmas celebration so I’m hoping to get some Christmas bargains in the sale. Regardless, of the sale, we always buy a pin to represent our trip and a Christmas decoration so we will be on the hunt for these. The girls aren’t a fan of shopping but they will probably enjoy looking at the toys and will have some Christmas and Birthday money to spend. I would like to visit the art shop in the Disney village, we got some beautiful prints last time we visited, it would be nice to see if they have anything new in.
As you can probably imagine, I’m very excited. We’ve not told the Zippy girls yet so shhhhh! The ultimate bucket list would be to upgrade our tickets to annual passes so we can visit multiple times throughout the year. The Disneyland Hotel will also be opening at the end of January so it would be amazing to stay there too, once upon a dream, hey!
